The hotspots
The famous circle tramline nr. 10 (stops at all tourist attractions)
has a stop near by, and so has tram nr. 3, bus nr. 18 leaves from Amsterdam
Central Station and has a stop
around the corner from apartment Yanni- this ride only takes around
5 minutes.
Tram nr. 3 will take you in only a few minutes to the van Gogh
museum ( do not forget that 2006 is REMBRANDT YEAR in
Amsterdam) this museum offers a grand exposition
with the best works of REMBRANDT and CARAVAGIO in a double
exposure- This expo is the ART HIT of 2006 in Amsterdam.
Do not miss it.
A street with supermarkets-
and lots of other shops you will find around the corner,The
famous Saturday market 'de lindenmarkt' and the
farmersmarket 'de noordermarkt' are almost around
the corner. The canals and the well known Jordaandistrict are
within walking distance from YANNI APARTMENT and
is famous for its variety of galleries, shops, fashion, cafes, restaurants,
and Monday and Saturday markets.
The Anne Frankhouse, the Saturday Farmersmarket and
the typical 'Negen Straatjes' (Nine Little (shopping) streets) are
the hotspots in the Jordaan.
Around the corner from YANNIS APARTMENT one can visit the more
then 100 years old woodsewing mill- which is still working and producing.
Talking about mills- one can make a nice area walk/ or even
better “ rent a bike”- and visit another example of a more
then beautiful example of a duch mill- which is
located opposite the Westerpark at Haarlemmerweg.
Around the corner, circle tram 10 will take
you within 6 minutes to Amsterdam centre with its famous hotspots:
The Red Light District, Leidseplein with it's bars,
cafe's and theatres, the Museumdistrict -
with the Rijks- and van Goghmuseum,
the Stedelijk Museum of modern art (now located near the Central
Station), The Heinekenbrewery, the beautiful Flowermarket and
last but not least: the famous AlbertCuyp daily
market.
The Marnix sportscomplex ( a 3 minutes walk)
with its pools and indoor gym/sauna`s/massages/ and cafe (to be opened
summer 2006) is a treat for body and muscles.
